Biraku Onsen SPA-HERBS is a large hot-spring complex in Kita ward fed by an alkaline spring from 1,100 m underground. Nine indoor baths include a sauna, a cold-water bath, carbonated and silk baths, with five open-air baths in a landscaped garden and a steam cave over the source. Five themed ganbanyoku stone-bath rooms add a löyly show nine times a day and a snow-falling cool room; monthly Aufguss events run in the sauna. Bathing from 9:00 to 25:00; weekday entry 1,265 yen.
