Laugaren
Laugaren is a floating, wood-fired sauna at USF Verftet run by Bergen Laugarlag, a non-profit association with about 150 volunteers and over 1,300 members. It opened in October 2023 and was named Sauna of the Year 2024 by Norway's sauna guild. Shared sessions take up to 20 people with a volunteer sauna master, with cheaper midday and member prices; Aufguss, rituals and some nude sessions run on set dates, and the whole raft can be hired. A cold shower stands on the quay.
Vestfjord Sauna Ytre Arna
Vestfjord Sauna Ytre Arna is a self-service sauna on the Sørfjorden in Ytre Arna, east of Bergen, with views from inside the sauna. The electric sauna runs at about 80°C and guests make their own löyly; a short flight of steps leads down to the fjord for a cold dip. Shared 90-minute sessions cost 249 NOK, private use for up to seven 1,199 NOK, and hosted Aufguss and breathing sessions start at 390 NOK. Open daily 6:00 to 22:30.
