Hotel Zuiho is a large hot spring hotel in Akiu Onsen, in the gorge country of western Taihaku Ward, that sells day bathing. Both the men's and women's baths have a high-temperature and a medium-temperature dry sauna, a cold bath of natural water that drops to single digits in winter, and six open-air baths in a Japanese garden. Day bathing runs 10:00 to 15:00 (last entry 14:00) for 1,320 yen plus 70 yen bathing tax.
