Best Saunas in Västerås, Sweden
Björnögården Wood-Fired Sauna
Aktivt Uteliv rents a wood-fired lakeside sauna on the north of Björnö for private groups. The building has showers, a relax room and a veranda; outside, a ladder reaches Lake Mälaren, with a maintained ice hole in winter. The operator also runs scheduled cold-bath drop-in hours, but private hire is available separately.
Sjöevent Sauna Raft
Sjöevent rents its wood-fired sauna raft beside Västerås guest harbour for private two-, three- or four-hour sessions. The raft stays moored at the quay and holds about twelve people in the hot room, with an enclosed lounge and sun deck. Showers, changing rooms and a toilet are in a service building nearby.
Relax Lounge Västerås
Relax Lounge privately rents its entire spa suite to one party at a time. A booking includes the infrared sauna, whirlpool, showers and lounge, making it an independently reservable sauna visit rather than a hotel amenity. Choose one of the operator’s private spa packages and book a time directly.
Sky Spa Plaza
Sky Spa on the upper floors of Hotel Plaza offers a separate relax admission for external guests. The pass includes access to the dry sauna, marble steam sauna, foot baths and loungers with high views across Västerås. A treatment or hotel stay is optional; contact the spa to reserve a suitable time.
Voltage Lounge Pool Club
The Steam Hotel sells a standalone Voltage Lounge day pass for its seventh-floor pool club. Visitors can use the sauna, warm indoor and outdoor pools, lounge and day beds without booking a hotel room. The setting is lively with music and a bar; reserve a dated day pass online before visiting.
