HARE-TABI SAUNA & INN

HARE-TABI is a sauna and hostel in Yamashita-chō on the edge of Yokohama Chinatown, five minutes' walk from JR Ishikawachō station. The men's sauna is built around a waterwheel-shaped stove modelled on a steam engine, billed as a first in Japan; the women's sauna has a funnel-shaped stove with self-löyly using Chinese tea. Bathers cool off in a herbal (kanpō) cold bath and a rest area with four kinds of fans. Day visitors need no reservation.
