Carolus Thermen
Thermal bath and sauna world on the edge of Aachen's Stadtgarten. The Saunawelt has nine saunas and saunaria, an oriental bath with hamam and three steam baths, plus a garden with a sauna lake, Kelo, Stollen and Backstube saunas. Aufguss ceremonies and meditations run through the day. The sauna area is nude-only, with no swimwear days. Open daily 9:00 to 23:00; thermal bath with sauna costs 40 to 52 euros.

Family-run sauna in Würselen, just north-east of Aachen, founded in 1985 and rated SaunaPremium by the German Sauna Association. It has a wood-fired Finnish log sauna, a Finnish sauna with hourly Aufguss, a bio sauna, steam bath and infrared cabin, set in a 1,800 m² garden with a natural swimming pond, plus a swimming pool and rest rooms with a salt grotto. Thursday is ladies' day. A day ticket costs 25 euros; closed Mondays.
