Carolus Thermen
Thermal bath and sauna world on the edge of Aachen's Stadtgarten. The Saunawelt has nine saunas and saunaria, an oriental bath with hamam and three steam baths, plus a garden with a sauna lake, Kelo, Stollen and Backstube saunas. Aufguss ceremonies and meditations run through the day. The sauna area is nude-only, with no swimwear days. Open daily 9:00 to 23:00; thermal bath with sauna costs 40 to 52 euros.
Roetgen Therme
Sauna village in Roetgen at the edge of the Eifel, about 16 km south of Aachen, open 365 days a year. It has seven sweat rooms from a 100 °C Aufguss sauna to a 45 °C caldarium, an Eifel sweat lodge and gemstone sauna, an outdoor seawater pool at 32.5 °C, indoor pool, whirlpools and a 15 °C cold-water Aquavital centre. The whole sauna area is textile-free. A day ticket costs 29 euros, a two-hour ticket 24 euros.
Saunapark Würselen
Family-run sauna in Würselen, just north-east of Aachen, founded in 1985 and rated SaunaPremium by the German Sauna Association. It has a wood-fired Finnish log sauna, a Finnish sauna with hourly Aufguss, a bio sauna, steam bath and infrared cabin, set in a 1,800 m² garden with a natural swimming pond, plus a swimming pool and rest rooms with a salt grotto. Thursday is ladies' day. A day ticket costs 25 euros; closed Mondays.
Parkhotel Quellenhof Spa
900 m² spa of the historic Parkhotel Quellenhof on the edge of Aachen's Kurpark, open to day guests. It has a 90 °C Finnish sauna, a 60 °C bio sauna, a 60 °C steam bath, an indoor pool, a rest area and a fitness room. The sauna area is a textile-free zone. A Day Spa ticket gives six hours for 49 euros, Monday to Thursday from 10:00 to 19:00; ten-visit cards and memberships are also sold.
