A multi-room thermal complex on 6th Street in Burnaby where one $52.50 admission opens all eight rooms: a Finnish dry sauna, a traditional sauna, a dry aroma sauna, Roman, aroma and eucalyptus steam rooms, and a Himalayan salt room, with a cool-down zone between rounds. Staff also perform Russian banya parenie and Turkish hammam rituals, and massage and spa treatments are booked separately. Bathing suits are mandatory in the saunas and the venue is 16 and over. Closed Wednesdays.
Miraj Hammam Spa
Canada's first hammam, open in Vancouver's Fairview since November 2000 and booked privately for one client at a time. The signature Hammam and Gommage is $135, or $185 with a body rhassoul mud mask, and massage or facial packages run from $235. Every treatment includes a sarong, robe, towel and slippers; the gommage is traditionally performed without clothing, though a swimsuit may be worn. Open 9am to 9pm Friday to Sunday, 10am to 7pm midweek.
