Float House on West Cordova in Gastown began as a sensory-deprivation float centre and now also runs private contrast rooms, each with its own premium infrared sauna and a cold plunge kept between 3 and 10°C, the range the studio calls optimal for muscle recovery. A 60-minute drop-in is $75, with a $45 monthly reset option on a three-month minimum. Open 10am to 10pm most days, from 3pm on Fridays. Float tanks are booked separately.

A public bath house on East Hastings operating since 1926, now run as eight private sauna suites rather than a shared floor. The rooms cover three high-heat saunas, three steam saunas and two hybrid infrared cabins, two of them couples' rooms and most holding up to four guests, each with its own private shower. Sessions are suggested at fifty minutes and can be paired with reflexology or body massage. Open Thursday to Monday 11am to 11pm, Wednesday from noon, closed Tuesday.

A Kitsilano spa on West 4th built around deep rest, combining float therapy, massage and two private infrared saunas, one cedar and one hemlock. A sauna session is $62 for 60 minutes, with an extra 10 to 15 minutes for showers before and after in your own private suite, where a cold shower stands in for the plunge. Guests linger afterwards in a sunlit upstairs mezzanine with tea. Acupuncture, reflexology and facials are also on the menu. Open daily, from 10am most days.
