Riela Bathhouse
Riela is a modern bathhouse on Calle de Apodaca inspired by Roman thermae, Japanese onsen and Russian banya. Its 75-minute self-guided thermal circuit runs through a 90°C Finnish sauna, a 50°C steam room, a hot mineral pool of 40 to 42°C, cold plunges at 4°C and 8°C and a heated granite stone. All spaces are shared, guests must be 18 or over, walk-ins are welcome, visitors bring a swimsuit and everything else is provided, and phones stay out of the bathing areas.
Hammam Al Ándalus Madrid Plaza Mayor
Hammam Al Ándalus opened its first Madrid centre in 2003 on Calle de Atocha in the historic centre near Plaza Mayor, reviving the Andalusian Arab baths under century-old vaults. Visitors move freely between baths at different temperatures, a steam room and hot and cold water contrast, with optional massage and a kessa scrub with black soap. Visits are 90-minute turns starting hourly from 10:00 to 22:00; the baths are mixed and swimwear is compulsory.

Madrid Sol y Agua is an urban spa on Calle de la Infanta Mercedes in Tetuán built around a thermal circuit: a warm hydrotherapy pool with jets, a jacuzzi, a Turkish bath and a Finnish sauna, a cold contrast basin or cold shower, essence and Scottish showers, a footbath corridor and a rest area. The circuit costs 22 to 45 EUR for 60 or 90 minutes, and the spa can be booked privately by couples, families or groups. It closes on Sundays, holidays and 3 to 17 August.

The Spa & Health Club of the Eurostars Madrid Tower hotel sits on the 29th floor of the skyscraper at Paseo de la Castellana 259, 120 metres above the ground. Its 45-minute thermal circuit includes a hydromassage bathtub, a sauna with panoramic views over the city and a steam bath, for a maximum of eight people at a time. Visitors from outside the hotel pay 45 EUR (hotel guests 30 EUR); booking is required, a swimming cap is compulsory and access starts at age 16.

The Spa at The Madrid EDITION is a small hotel spa on Plaza de Celenque in the city centre, finished in neutral tones with dark timber floors and antique baroque candelabras. It is open to hotel guests and day guests and has a Finnish dry sauna, a steam room, a relaxation lounge, three treatment rooms and two suites for two, with treatments by Natura Bissé. It opens every day from 11:00 to 19:00, and bookings are taken by email or phone.

David Lloyd Serrano is an adults-only members' club on Calle de Serrano in the Salamanca district, with a gym, an indoor heated pool, studios and a Clubroom. Its adults-only spa beside the pool has a Finnish sauna, a Himalayan salt sauna, a crystal steam room and a citrus steam room, an ice cave, a hydromassage pool, a jacuzzi, sensation showers and heated relaxation beds.
