Hörnbad
Kiel's municipal pool on the Hörn, near the main station, with a rooftop sauna area reached from the outdoor terrace. It has two Finnish sauna rooms with views (90°C and 75°C) where scented Aufguss sessions alternate, a 60°C mild sauna, a steam room, a rooftop sun terrace and an outdoor whirlpool. All saunas are textile-free. From mid-September the sauna is closed on Mondays and Tuesday is women only. A 3-hour sauna-only ticket costs €16.
Schwimmhalle Preetz
Municipal indoor pool run by the town of Preetz on the shore of the Postsee, about 13 km south-east of Kiel, with a 25-metre pool and a sauna area. The sauna area has a steam bath (47 °C), a bio sauna (60 °C), a Finnish sauna (80 °C) and a Kelo sauna (95 °C), and is textile-free. Single sauna entry costs €21, or €14 from 7 PM Tuesday to Friday. Tuesday is women only, Monday is closed, and the sauna runs a reduced summer service from July to September.
