Acquamadre

Acquamadre

Acquamadre is an independent hammam in the Jewish Ghetto of central Rome, laid out like a Roman bath: a tepidarium at 34°C with heated marble benches and hot-water ablutions, a calidarium steam bath at 45°C and 100% humidity where the body is scrubbed with the kassa glove, then a frigidarium tub of fresh water at 26°C and a relaxation room. Swimwear is compulsory, and the hammam is reserved for women on the first two Thursdays of each month.

El Spa

El Spa

El Spa is an independent day spa in the Prati district, open for more than 25 years, built around a hammam that is kept exclusively for one guest or a couple at a time. An hour in the hammam on your own costs 65 EUR, or 95 EUR as a traditional Arab hammam with an attendant who performs a deep exfoliation. Longer paths add the spa's steam-filled 'vasche emozionali' baths and massages. It opens daily, 10:00 to 20:30 on weekdays and until 21:00 at weekends.
