RCVRY House is a contrast-therapy studio inside Wheelhouse Academy on 4th Avenue South in downtown Birmingham. Instructor-led sessions for groups of four or five start with up to 20 minutes in a traditional hot stone sauna kept at about 180°F, where water is poured on the rocks for löyly, followed by up to four minutes in cold plunge tubs at about 48°F. Drop-in packs and monthly memberships are sold, and clothing is mandatory.
