Connect Wellness is an appointment-only outdoor community spa in a Vancouver, Washington backyard, a short drive north of Portland. Two-hour community sessions cost $40 per person and include wood-burning saunas at 160 to 190 degrees, cold plunge tubs between 35 and 55 degrees, a warm soaking tub and garden nature areas; a private spa area with a reservable sauna is also available. Family-friendly swimwear is required and guests must be 13 or older. Open daily, from 6 or 7 AM most days.

Guss is a wood-fired mobile sauna that sets up beside the Willamette River in Southeast Portland, most days at Sellwood Riverfront Park by the dock or across the water at Willamette Park by the boat ramp, so bathers can alternate wood-fired heat with a river plunge. Koti Sauna is a neighborhood backyard sauna in Milwaukie, just south of Portland, named after the Finnish word for home. Its large outdoor Finnish sauna is heated to 185 to 195 degrees with three tiers of cedar benches, birch-scented steam and garden views; guests rinse in outdoor showers, sink into one of two cold plunges cooled to 40 to 50 degrees and warm up at a firepit lounge. Two-hour community sessions are booked online, private rentals start at $400, and swimsuits are required.

Secret Sauna PDX is a social wood-fired cedar sauna tucked behind a neighborhood bar on NE Glisan Street in Portland's Montavilla area, with outdoor showers that can be turned as cold as you like and tall trees overhead. Community sessions run 60 or 90 minutes in social, quiet, guided and FTWNB formats for $30 and $40 per person, and the whole sauna can be booked privately for $270 per 90 minutes. The sauna runs seasonally through the cooler months, with the last day of service in late May.
