Villa Salmela Sauna

Villa Salmela's wood-heated shore sauna Autereinen in Laajasalo is warm all year, pairing a sauna room for up to eight with a spacious fireplace room. Bathers swim from the pier, and in winter a pump keeps an ice hole open. Public 1.5-hour sessions run on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons, mostly mixed, with women's turns on Wednesday and Saturday evenings; adults pay EUR 17. There is no shower, only a wash basin with warm water, and the sauna can also be rented privately.
