Description
La Bastide des Bains is a hammam and beauty institute on Rue Sainte in Marseille's 1st arrondissement, a few steps from the Vieux-Port, styled like an antique bath with ochre mosaics and stone basins. A visit centres on the steam room, followed by a black-soap scrub on a marble table and mint tea by the fountain. Hammam entry is 40 EUR. It is women-only most of the day; mixed sessions run Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 3 PM to 8 PM.
