A social sauna village on the Sihlquai with four cabins right on the Limmat: large Finnish saunas at 75–100 °C for a lively crowd, smaller ones by the water for quiet, and bio saunas at 55–60 °C on Monday and Thursday evenings. Cold plunges run at 2–6 °C beside outdoor showers on the river terrace, with indoor and outdoor relax zones and a bistro. It is a textile sauna and entry is CHF 29 for two hours; the season starts on 9 October 2026.

Sauna am See – Seebad Enge

The sauna of the Seebad Enge sits on a wooden pier in Lake Zurich by the Hafen Enge, run by Tonttu. Two mixed sauna cabins look out over the water to the mountains, with a rest room, a large open-air deck with direct lake access, a non-swimmers' pool in the lake and a Finnish cold-water shower. Single entry is CHF 31 for up to three hours; the 2026/27 sauna season starts on 3 October 2026, with Sunday evening openings during the bathing season.

Wollishofer Sauna + Gesundheitszentrum

A tiny neighbourhood sauna, one of the last of its kind in Zurich, run on a self-service basis since 2015: guests get a key-safe code after an introduction on site and pay CHF 24 per visit in cash or by Twint. There is a sauna cabin and a steam cabin but no outdoor area, and massages, Kneipp courses and lymphatic drainage are offered alongside. Mondays all day and Wednesday and Thursday mornings are reserved for women.

A neighbourhood sauna in the Sonnenpark on the Zürichberg, set inside a Sonnenbad laid out in 1905 and claiming the largest sauna garden in the city. Indoors are a Finnish sauna at 85–95 °C, a bio sauna with a light-therapy sky and a small steam bath; outdoors a garden sauna, a Laubsauna and a wood-fired Laubsauna, plus a 16 °C cold-water pool and meadows to lie on. Wednesdays until 4 pm are for women; entry is CHF 29, CHF 32 at weekends.

Hammam & Spa Stadtbad Zürich

A hammam in Kreis 4 modelled on the traditional Turkish bath: guests warm up on a hot stone, sweat in a steam bath and scrub with a kese in a peeling niche, then move on to a small sauna area at 80–90 °C with a cold-water pool, a foot bath and a mist shower. Guests are wrapped in a pestemal for the circuit and sit nude in the sauna. A three-hour visit costs CHF 54 including textiles, bathrobe, healing chalk and cream, and Wednesday is women's day.

Hallenbad Altstetten

Hallenbad Altstetten

A cooperative-run indoor pool in Altstetten with an inexpensive sauna. Inside are a Sanarium at 60 °C and an aroma steam bath at 45 °C; outside a Finnish sauna at 90 °C opens onto a sauna garden with a sensory path, a Kneipp basin and a rock shower. The whole sauna area is a nudity zone. Monday is women's day and Wednesday men's day. Entry for adults is CHF 21 including the pool.

A sauna inside the Hallenbad Oerlikon, with one mixed area and one women's area, each holding two saunas, a rest room and an outdoor terrace with a cold plunge pool, plus one large silent rest room shared by all guests. The cabins run at 80–90 °C and massages are offered daily. Single entry is CHF 21, or CHF 17 reduced, with last admission an hour and a half before closing.

A 600-square-metre spa at the Mercure Zürich City hotel in Zürich-West with views over the city. Guests sweat in a steam bath, a bio sauna or a Finnish panorama sauna with infusions and cool down at an ice fountain, with experience showers, rest rooms, a whirlpool and roof terraces with loungers, daybeds and hanging chairs. The saunas are used without swimwear while the whirlpool requires it, and a fitness room has cardio and strength machines.

Separate Ladies' and Gentlemen's spas each hold a sauna, a steam bath, a foot bath, an aroma pool, steam pots, a plunge pool and a solarium, while the shared Aqua Zone adds a 25-metre pool, whirlpools, a Sanarium, a Snow Paradise, a steam bath and an outdoor sun terrace. Day passes are sold to visitors who are not staying at the hotel and give unrestricted use of the spa.

A Fitnesspark on Giessereistrasse in Kreis 5 with around 180 strength and cardio machines and free-weight areas over two floors and group fitness in a large studio. Its wellness area has a sauna landscape with sauna ceremonies, a steam bath, a relaxation pool and a Kneipp path with a plunge basin, and classic massage is bookable. The wellness area is being remodelled with more space for rest and larger relaxation zones.
