Five themed dry saunas – Gold Tourmaline, Yellow Clay Ball, Pink Himalayan Salt, Black Tourmaline and the hottest Nano room – sit beside clothing-optional wet areas with hot tubs and a steam room, resting areas, massage and the Northern Kitchen restaurant. Watershed is a communal bathhouse in the historic Switch House beside the Mississippi River in Northeast Minneapolis. Guests follow a seven-step ritual of shower, soak, steam, sauna, cold plunge, reset and repeat across a hot pool, steam room, dry sauna and cold plunge pool, with spa treatments, salt scrubs and private gatherings for up to 30 guests also on offer. A 2.5-hour bath experience costs $63; swimsuits are worn and guests must be 18 or over. Open daily 9 AM to 11 PM, last entry 9 PM.

Anda Spa, whose name is Swedish for spirit, occupies Hotel Ivy, a Luxury Collection hotel in downtown Minneapolis. Beyond massages and facials, its amenities include a Crystal Sauna, dry sauna, eucalyptus steam rooms, a heated hydrotherapy whirlpool and two lounges. Amenities are open to guests who book a treatment, to non-hotel guests via a scheduled Gemstone Journey, and to locals via annual membership. Guided by Finnish-style thermotherapy, guests cycle heat, cool and relax through a sauna, steam room, ice fountain and deluge shower, a Himalayan salt relaxation room and a hot tub on a 1,300-square-foot deck with firepits, alongside massages and body treatments. Closed Mondays; open from 11:30 AM Tuesday, 9:30 AM Wednesday to Friday and 8:30 AM at weekends.
