Fjordtokt Båt & Badstu

Fjordtokt runs three wood-fired saunas at the tip of the breakwater at Sollerud in west Oslo, five minutes' walk from Lysaker station. Neptun, a sauna raft, and Caldarium, a sauna boat, float at the pier, while Afrodite, a sauna wagon, stands on land five metres from the water. From the floating saunas guests jump straight into the fjord. Drop-in places (up to eight, swimwear kept on) and private sessions are booked online for one to two hours, and guests keep the fire going themselves.

Kongen Marina Sauna

Kongen Marina Sauna is a glass-dome sauna on a raft beside the restaurant terrace at Kongen Marina on Frognerstranda, with a view across the Oslofjord. It is open every day, year-round, and runs at 90–100 °C. A shared session takes up to ten guests, and drop-in is possible if there is room; private hire takes up to twelve. Everyone must shower and wear swimwear in the sauna. A unisex changing room with a cold shower is in the pink annex on the raft, and drinks are served from the restaurant.

Pust's communal sauna at Kadettangen in Sandvika, Bærum, lies about ten minutes' drive from Oslo. The electric sauna holds up to 20 people on three bench levels, roughly 75 °C at the bottom, 85 °C in the middle and near 100 °C at the top, and pairs with a swim in the sea. There are changing rooms for men and women and cold showers all year. Swimwear must be worn at all times, and nudity is not allowed. It opens 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with tickets from NOK 150.

Bristol Spa at Hotel Bristol spreads over three floors in central Oslo, with Moorish-inspired arches and mosaics. It has a classic sauna with aufguss led by a sauna master, an infrared sauna built of magnolia wood, a snow room, hot and cold plunge pools, a 5.9 x 4 m resting pool, a rainwalk shower and a rhassoul steam ritual. Outside guests enter from Sehesteds plass, with entry from NOK 895. It opens daily 10:00 to 22:00, swimwear is mandatory throughout, and the minimum age is 18.

THIEF SPA is the spa of the design hotel The Thief on Tjuvholmen, by the Oslofjord. It has a Finnish sauna, a steam room built around a salt crystal, a 12-metre heated relaxation pool and Sensory Sky showers, and guests can swim in the fjord from a private bathing jetty a stone's throw away. Outside guests can book 90-minute entry Monday to Wednesday, 10:00 to 19:00, for NOK 595. Swimwear is mandatory, and the minimum age is 16.
